Neurodevelopmental / Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician
Mercy Clinic is a seeking a fellowship trained, BC/BE Neurodevelopmental or Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician for our Mercy Kids Autism and Therapy Center. The Center is located in St. Louis, Missouri, and is housed within a single space which provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary outpatient children’s therapy services as part of Mercy Children’s Hospital—St. Louis.
The ideal candidate will have training and experience in the diagnosis and continuing care of children and adolescents with the whole range of neurodevelopmental and behavioral conditions including autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, learning disorders, emotional/behavioral difficulties and sleeping/feeding among others. We work as a highly committed multidisciplinary team including medical specialists in developmental and behavioral and neurodevelopmental pediatrics as well as child neurology, a pediatric nurse practitioner and other professionals in child psychology, clinical social work, behavioral analysis and the full range of pediatric therapies. On site family navigation services, dietary consultation, genetic counseling, complex feeding clinic, and augmentative and alternative communication evaluations are provided. Mercy Clinic pediatric specialists in genetics, sleep medicine, gastroenterology, nutrition and child and adolescent psychiatry provide additional medical support for comprehensive care.
The Autism Center staff is committed to excellence in clinical care using a family and patient-centered care model. The Center is designated as an official Missouri Autism Center and has close working relationships with regional academic centers providing opportunities to participate in a variety of educational and clinical research projects for the interested candidate.
The position includes medical responsibility for clinical evaluation and management of children with neurodevelopmental and behavioral issues either individually or within a multidisciplinary framework. Our diagnostic and assessment approaches and therapeutic interventions are evidence-based and include individual and team diagnostics, ADOS testers with research reliability supervision and individualized psychometric, occupational and speech and language evaluations on site. Interventions provided include 4 ESDM classrooms staffed by certified ESDM therapists, PEERS and social communication groups, PCIT counseling and behavioral analysis consultations.
