Clinical Faculty: Nuclear Radiologist
The Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Group is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position as a Nuclear Radiologist. This faculty position is a continuing appointment at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. The successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment to the University of Arizona commensurate with their credentials.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
- BC/BE Diagnostic Radiology.
- Fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine
- Arizona Medical License
- Ability to work with diverse students, trainees and colleagues
- Work Schedule: 4 Clinical Days/ 1 Academic (1.0 FTE)
- Average Patient Volume: 30
- Procedures: PET, SPECT, Nuclear Cardiology and therapies
In 2018-2019, the division of Nuclear Medicine will be undergoing expansion to a new outpatient medical imaging center and also a new university hospital. A state of the art, digital PET/CT scanner will be installed this year. Additionally, we will have 3 SPECT/CT systems and 3 SPECT scanners. The faculty interpret approximately 2,500 PET/CT scans annually. The nuclear medicine faculty provide training for two nuclear radiology fellows (ACGME-accredited) in addition to residents and medical students. The nuclear medicine faculty interpret the majority of nuclear cardiology scans and also train the cardiology fellows. We are expanding our therapy program which currently includes radium-223 chloride, radioiodine for benign thyroid disease and thyroid cancer and soon NET treatment. We support numerous clinical trials for neurodegenerative diseases and oncology, including for Lu-177 PSMA therapy.
